The Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has joined the chorus advocating for peaceful coexistence among the people of the Savannah Region.
He made these remarks during a donation ceremony to Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I, marking his first anniversary as the King of Gonjaland.
Presented by the Savannah Regional Chairman of the party, Professor Iddrisu Sulemana Kalamonia, in Damongo, West Gonja Municipality, the donation comprised GHȼ100,000 in cash, a bull, and 30 bags of rice, along with 20 packs of assorted drinks and five jerricans of cooking oil.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized the significance of peace in the progress of developed nations and individuals, underscoring the importance of peaceful coexistence among the people of the Savannah Region.
“One cannot rule an empty kingdom but one full of people and this comes with a powerful ingredient like peace”, he insisted.
Acknowledging Dr. Bawumia’s contributions, the NPP chairman highlighted the Vice President’s enstoolment as a sub-chief by Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale I and praised his efforts, including the renovation of the JAKPA Palace.
Yagbonwura, in response, commended the Vice President and the government for fostering peace in the country and expressed gratitude for Dr. Bawumia’s continuous support for the Gonja people. He pledged to uphold peace in his kingdom.
