A faulty Police vehicle has run into a taxi cab and knocked down some pedestrians leaving victims with multiple injuries, MyNewsGh.com reports.
The police vehicle with registration number GP 3030 belonging to the Nsawam Police District Day Patrols team driven by one Issaka Yakubu with four other police officers on board, was coming from Adeiso direction towards Nsawam.
On reaching a section of the road at Uptown on Adeiso – Nsawam motor road, the police vehicle developed a mechanical fault and the suspect driver lost control of his vehicle, veered off his lane and ran into a Hyundai i10 taxi cab with registration number GG 4512-21 driven by suspect driver Felix Akuffo aged 30 with four (4) occupants on board.
The Police Toyota Pick-up moved further and ran into some shops at the offside portion of the road.
The injured persons including drivers of both vehicles who severe sustained injuries were rushed to Nsawam Government Hospital for medical treatment.
Some shops got damaged including some properties estimated at several tens of thousands of Ghana cedis. Both vehicles have been towed to the station and impounded for examination and testing by DVLA Officials.
