Ghanaian rapper Amerado Burner has asked Ghanaians to stop referring to him as an underground rapper.
Speaking to Andy Dosty in Hitz FM, Amerado Burner claimed that he is at the same level as Medikal and the other rappers who are considered as mainstream rappers.
In his submission, he said;
“We’re all mainstream artistes. Me, I see myself as a mainstream act because if I was up and coming in 2016/17, Andy, up till now if you still call me up and coming, my fans will be disappointed.
What are the main reasons why we call somebody underground? Is it because the person doesn’t have a hit song?
I don’t ever want to be tagged an underground act because I see myself as big. I can be big and I am big so when you tag me as an underground, I feel like my talent is not at the same level as an underground.
All I need from these people is to see us as big. Even if you want to use a word to describe us, use young act. That’s respectful but underground, up and coming, until when can we come up?”
