Three houses, 12 cars have been vandalised following a dawn raid at Twedie in the Atwima Kwanwoma district of the Ashanti Region.
A brawl between two gangs from Agogo and Twedie on December 24 last year, escalated on Monday January 1, 2024.
One of the victims in Monday’s clashes at Twedie has told TV3 that he was stabbed by a member of the feuding gangs during the brawl. He sustained an injury on his left rib.
The Twedie community’s mechanised borehole was also attacked. Two filters have been destroyed.
An eyewitness narration pointed to a party held on the eve of Christmas which turned sour. “We were all having fun at the Daakye Spot on the night of December 24 when a misunderstanding ensued between two of our boys from Twedie and some guys from Agogo, it turned into a fisticuff, we thought the matter has been settled only to wake up this morning to see this. Several properties have been destroyed.
There is uneasy calm at Twedie at the moment, some irate youth have vowed to retaliate.
Police, have so far arrested two suspects according to the Assemblyman for the area, Augustine Osei “the police whisked two suspects away.”
