Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly known as Twitter), has reinstated the account of renowned American singer and fashion designer, Kanye Omari West, widely known as Kanye West or Ye.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the company clarified that Kanye will not be able to monetize his account, and no advertisements will appear alongside his posts.
Kanye’s account, boasting 31.5 million followers, now features a golden verification tick, signifying X’s recognition of it as an official business account.
In December 2022, the rapper’s account was suspended due to multiple antisemitic comments, which violated the platform’s rules on inciting violence.
As of now, the reason behind the account’s reactivation remains unclear. Kanye has not made any posts on the platform, and it is uncertain whether he submitted an appeal or if there were other reasons for the reinstatement.
