Minister for Roads and Highways Kwasi Amoako-Atta has reportedly tarred a minor road path leading to his father’s Cocoa Farm in a village in Kwabeng in the Eastern Region.

This is according to the Eastern Regional Communication Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dallas Ampomah Williams, who is questioning the minister to answer for what he claims is abuse of state resources.

The NDC man was refuting assertions that, the NPP government have constructed more roads and hospitals in the region and in the country than any other government in the fourth Republic.

But according to Dallas, only some few select constituencies are seeing road projects with nepotistic distribution. He named the Deputy minister of finance Abena Osei Asare as a beneficiary of the nepotism road projects.

“If you go to Kwabeng in the Atewa West constituency, first class roads and that is the hometown of the Minister of Roads. Even the road to leading to his father’s Cocoa Farm has been done. You can confirm” Dallas claimed.

He was also accused the Minister and the government of constructing smooth tarred roads in Kyebi but terminated thr project just when it reached Kyebi Zongo.

This is not the first time Kwasi Amoako Atta, Minister of Roads is  been criticized for prioritizing his hometown and community of Kwabeng in the Atewa West constituency.

The pictures of the road from Anyinam junction on the main Accra-Kumasi highway all the way inside Kwabeng shows the good quality road the Minister has constructed for his people with some of the best streetlights you can find.

Government advocates say the President Nana Addo hails from the region and a lot is expected from his administration. Though some areas in the region have received its fair share of developments , there are lot more to be done to close the developmental gap of the region.
