Former Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto is challenging persons doubting his physical fitness to a tennis match.
Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto who believes he is physically fit to be President of Ghana despite his age, argues that those making the claims do not really know him and what he has in store.
Though his critics admit he is intelligent, they are worried about his age considering the pressure that comes along with work at the presidency.
But in response to the concerns on Accra-based Peace Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the former Kwadaso lawmaker disagreed with their assertion age has caught up with him and that he is not physically strong for the rigorous job of a president.
“Anyone doubting my physical fitness should on Saturday morning grab a racket and meet me the Golden Tulip Tennis Club. We will play for two hours and see who will collapse. President Biden is 81, he is going for a second term. Ouattara is coming off at the age of 80 and Akufo-Addo will be 79 next week and you see the way he works? He works 24-hours…today you hear he is here, the next time he is Dakar and another time he is in Qatar”, he argued.
According to him, there is evidence to the back the fact that the young ones who governed the country never gave off their best subjected Ghanaians to all manner of suffering.
“We all saw what the young ones did when they governed this country. Mahama became President at age 52. We slept in darkness as a result of power crises. I am stronger than him if he doubt me he should accept my challenge to a tennis contest”, he challenged
