The unpredictability of the Europa League was in full force on Thursday night as the continent’s secondary club competition approaches crunch time.
Premier League leaders Arsenal couldn’t find a way past Sporting CP, the tie ending 3-3 on aggregate before the Portuguese side triumphed on penalties at the Emirates Stadium.
That has opened the door for Manchester United, who last won the Europa League in 2017, as well as Italian sides Juventus and Roma.
The draw took place on Friday afternoon. Here are the upcoming ties.
Confirmed Europa League quarter final and semi final draws
Manchester United were the first team drawn and have been given another trip to Spain, this time in the form of La Liga strugglers Sevilla. Los Nervionenses have won the Europa League a record six times.
Juventus will have to see off Portuguese side Sporting CP if they want to reach the semi finals, while tournament debutants Union Saint-Gilloise will face Bayer Leverkusen.
