A Communicator of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and an Ashanti Regional Deputy Secretary hopeful, Peter Aboagye is urging President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to desist from self-adulation of his presidency.

He says the constant positive image, self-praising and self-assessment being done by the President is unfortunate and mediocre.

Mr. Aboagye’s advice comes on the back of recent comments made by President Nana Addo to the effect that Ghanaians are lucky to have him as president in the current economic difficulties the nation finds itself in.

“You are lucky you have me as the President of Ghana”, he remarked.

Addressing a gathering of chiefs and people in the Yapei-Kusawgu District, he also berated the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for failing to spearhead development in the area.

“What this tells me is that the 8 elections conducted in Ghana since 1992 have always gone to the National Democratic Congress and yet when I come here, I hear all of these demands.

Akufo-Addo continued, “But Yagbonwura, you are lucky, you have me as the President of Ghana. I’m going to do it for you”.

The NDC communicator says it will be better for the President not to insult the sensibilities of Ghanaians with such comments.

‘‘It is pitiful that as a president in this era and time, he will want to continue doing his own self praising, its pitifully that when he came into power at a time when the exchange rate was 2 cedis to a dollar, chastise the managers of the economy as incompetent, and he is doing well over 10 cedis is tell Ghanaians we are lucky to have him as a leader’’

‘What has he really done for Ghana to tell us we are lucky to have him? Look, the president must stop these things. Not too long ago he was telling us his appointees  have delivered and are 100 percent, how can that be and we are all suffering’’

‘‘our economy is on the verge of collapse, is that the mark of a lucky president’’

‘‘[We spent 25 million to clean our banking sector and today all the international ratings have downgraded us to the extent that some 3 other banks are on the verge of collapse again. Is that the president who is saying we are lucky to have him?’’

‘‘A president that rates his minister, a president with corruption tags and corruption deals, he never investigates and let his appointee go scot-free, that his men are competent and good to go, how?’’

Mr. Aboagye says the President needs to retract and apologize to the good people of Ghana.

‘‘The president has borrowed more than any president with nothing to show for it. He needs to retract and apologize to Ghanaians, we are lucky to have him as president statement’’

‘‘We are rather sad and regret having him as our leader’’, he observed.
