Popular movie actor, John Dumelo appears to be indirectly preparing himself for the soon-to-be-created Santrokofi-Akpafu-Lolobi-Likpe (SALL) constituency after probably coming to the realization that the Ayawaso West Wuogon seat will not easily be snatched.

The actor cum farmer shot unto the political limelight in the last electioneering campaign, when as a rookie politician, he won the NDC’s parliamentary primaries for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency and gave the NPP’s Lydia Seyram Alhassan a run for her money in the main parliamentary election in December 2020.

In fact, at a point when results were still trickling in, there were rumours that the prolific actor had snatched the seat for the NDC, although it turned out to be false.

From distributing laptops to sharing phones, and even sharing unsolicited hugs to females on University campuses, Mr. Dumelo had actively warmed his way into the political limelight, although sadly it didn’t translate much into votes.

Having had enough time to analyze his performance in the last election, Mr. Dumelo, this portal has learned is gradually warming his way into the hearts of people in the orphan constituency of SALL, the place which has been the major beneficiary of the actor’s charity works in recent times.

The actor spent a part of the festive season amid the people of SALL, dishing out goodies and cash.

Mr. Dumelo even celebrated crossover with the people of SALL at St Michael’s Catholic Church Lolobi and then in Likpe Bakua.

Prior to that, John Dumelo joined some of the youth of Likpe Kukrantumi and Santrokofi for a health walk as well as fund raising for a community center project in Santrokofi.

The Electoral Commission is expected to finalize preparations to ensure that the people of SALL are duly represented in parliament, and Mr. Dumelo may yet be that representative.
