Energy Minister, who doubles as the Member of Parliament for the Manhyia North constituency, Matthew Opoku Prempeh incurred the wraths and displeasure of Ghanaians after making a comment which has been described by many as tribalistic, about the Keta tidal wave.
It can be recalled that Matthew Opoku Prempeh threatened on a live show, that he will organize a demonstration on the street of Kumasi if the minority caucus still insists that the government make some provisions and allocation from the budget for the residents of Keta.
Today, Member of Parliament for the North Tongu constituency, Honorable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has added his voice on this situation. He summarized the statements from Matthew Opoku Prempeh as “bigoted and incendiary threats”.
However, he praised or commended the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, for ignoring the comments of Matthew Opoku Prempeh and going ahead to make some allocations for the preparatory works on Phase 2 of the Blekusu Coastal protection projects. He stated that it was a welcome news to the displaced Ghanaians
