FIFA have issued a massive twist in the tale after weeks of drama since SAFA and Bafana Bafana lodged an official appeal for a rematch against Ghana.
FIFA were initially meant to respond to SAFA’s appeal on the 23 November.
However, there has been no response until now. FIFA and CAF have postponed the African World Cup playoffs to next month. Meaning, they will now take place from 26 January instead of this month according to KickOff’s website.
This is massive news for SAFA as it means that FIFA are deeply investigating the matter. This means, their is a possibility that a decision will only be made next year.
In all likeliness, Bafana’s appeal has heavily contributed to CAF’s decision to postpone these play-offs in order for them to resolve this matter. Hopefully, justice is served and South Africa get their rematch.
New evidence has emerged that has given SAFA more hope and a much stronger appeal.
This, after Ghana was exposed and the referee was punished. Fingers crossed Mzansi!
