Vice President of the Republic, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has caused massive stir with his latest address on transforming the country to a digital economy.
Speaking at the Asheshi University today, he eulogised his government as the government with most industries built to its numerous achievements. He indicated that, the flagship One District One Factory program has embellished the government’s name.
The Vice President also lauded the government’s efforts to transform the economy into a digital one, while calling on the youths to be actively involved in the revolution. It seems his address has sparked mixed reactions from Ghanaians between two sides of the political divide. A section has heaped praises on him while others are chastising him over failed promises.
A legal Counsel to the President and a bigwig of the New Patriotic Party, Kow Essuman has reacted to the address delivered by Dr. Bawumia. He has eulogised him over the succinct delivery and his efforts to make Ghana recognized in the modern world of digitization.
In a post sighted on his official Facebook page, he indicated that Dr. Bawumia’s speech would jeopardize the efforts made by former President John Dramani Mahama to contest the presidency again. According to him, Bawumia has shamed his critics who constantly peddled untruth about his government.
Undoubtedly, Mr. Mahama is working assiduously to win the endorsement of his party officials to lead the party. His intentions could clearly be seen during his remarks at the Thank You tour. However, according to Kow Essuman, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has seized the chances for Mahama with his address on the state of the economy.
He wrote, “From the way, Dr. Bawumia is going, John Dramani Mahama may remain the only one term President in the 4th Republic..”
