Larry Madowo continues to receive some criticisms on social media after his infamous interview with the member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency, Sam George.
The CNN African news anchor interviewed Sam Dzata George some few days back on the controversial anti-LGBTQ+ bill currently before parliament.
Whilst a lot of people are praising the MP for a sterling performance during the interview despite the condescending tone of Larry Madowo, the latter has been heavily criticized for failing to do proper background checks on the subject matter (in this case, the bill) and the Legislator.
For example, during the interview, Larry Madowo suggested that people found culpable or engaging in any LGBTQ+ risks a ten (10) jail sentence. A claim that was sharply refuted by the Lawmaker who indicated that there are provisions in the bill that protects the rights of LGBTQ+ for a fair trial.
The lawmaker also expressed disgust on the line of questioning of the journalist and advised him to get his facts right.
There have even been claims that Larry Madowo resigned from his role after the contentious interview with Sam George but Cityzen_Vigilante cannot authoritatively confirm that.
A lot of Kenyans have taken to social media to advise the journalist with some urging him to do a thorough research before proceeding to interview a Ghanaian MP.
Peter Kanundu wrote; ” Larry my school mate, I want to tell you the truth that the Ghanaian MP outsmarted you openly. You didn’t do proper research or background check on the MP”
Mr Ole wrote; “ Well Larry, you met an intelligent fellow having facts and details on his side”.
Kunle Kepkitir wrote; “ When you get the opportunity to interview a Ghanaian MP next time, make sure you do a thorough research. They are smart people.
Others also commended Sam George for his composure throughout the interview.
