Josephine Panyin Mensah, 28, has pleaded not guilty after being arraigned before a Takoradi Harbour Circuit Court A on Monday, September 27.
She has, therefore, been granted a GH¢50,000 bail with two sureties.
On her first appearance in court on Monday, she pleaded not guilty to the charges of deceiving a public officer and publication of false news with intent to cause fear and panic. This is despite claims by the police that she confessed to faking her kidnapping and pregnancy.
The acting Director-General in charge of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, ACP Kwesi Ofori in an interview said the police were going to prosecute her for wasting the resources of the force and also creating a fake story, sending them on a wild goose chase.
