It is very clear that the NPP is disappointed in the results they had in this year’s elections.
The Leadership and supporters of the party thought the elections will be easier than ever, but to their surprise, the call came closer than they imagined.
Much hope was banged on their social interventions and community infrastructures. The Member of Parliament elect for Assin Central Hon Kennedy Agyapong has expressed his disappointment in Zongo communities for not massively voting for the NPP.
The shocking and close margin has got gurus in the party talking and shifting blames on those they see to be responsible.
In addressing the issues that led to to the shocking results, he addressed the ingratitude of Zongo communities.
“Look at Oti Region, you should politically assume that you maintain your stronghold first before you seek for extra votes. In my my hometown alone, I beat my competitor with over 1000 votes.
“He won all the Zongo areas. Why is it that people in the North have embraced NPP whiles the Zongos in the capital do not appreciate us?
“The people in Savannah accepted Akufo-Addo’s policies. They should take all projects to the North and leave them (Zongos) here.” Kennedy Agyapong told Owoahene Antwi Boasiako of NET2 TV.
