The importance of Kwesi Twum in building a successful media conglomerate cannot be underestimated.
Known in Ghana for bringing the first privately-owned radio station (Joy FM) to the country, media mogul Kwasi Twum is the CEO and founder of the Multimedia Group.
Kwasi Twum earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Ghana and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
The Multimedia Journey
After he established Joy FM in 1994, he founded Luv FM in Kumasi.
Then he turned his attention to the building of local brands after he saw what Osei Kwame Despite and his team of Peace FM could accomplish.
As a result, he acquired a large stake in Aero Communications, owners of Groove FM, which was renamed Adom FM.
Eventually, the company acquired Hitz FM, Asempa FM and Nhyira FM, each of which is aimed at a different market segment.
Early in the online era, Twum, along with his team, felt it necessary to establish a website that would allow the company to extend its influence online and the website www.myjoyonline.com was launched.
