President Akufo-Addo has stated without equivocation that teaching does not make rich.
According to him, teaching is a sacrificial service one renders not expecting to rake in much money to become an overnight millionaire.
Speaking to an exclusive audience, Akufo-Addo said teachers can’t really solely on their work expecting to get rich or become millionaires.
He added that teachers will have to do more… rely on other streams of income and pursue other careers if they really wanna experience what financial independence means.
These words from President Akufo-Addo come to muddy the water as far the welfare of teachers in Ghana is concerned. Ghanaian teachers are poorly remunerated in comparison to what pertains to other countries.
Therefore, although President Akufo-Addo’s words may seem right and truthful, it does the situation in Ghana no good especially in his position as the President of Ghana.
