Eric Osei Owusu, the Member of Parliament for Afram Plains South in the Eastern Region says the electoral commission is united with the incumbent NPP to undertake a diabolic stunt to retain power.

Reacting to the Electoral Commission’s position Eric Osei Owusu insists it’s a move by the commission to support the governing NPP to retain power.

“Everything pointed to the fact that the EC, especially its chairperson, Jean Mensa, was clearly in favor of the NPP to retain political power through any means,” Eric Osei Owusu told Kwame Tutu on ‘Anopa Nkomo’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7

“This was the same register that was used for the district assembly elections and the creation of six regions in the country last year”.

He noted that it’s this same register that brought Akufo-Addo to power and therefore there is no need to compile another register.

Eric Osei Owusu stressed that the ruling NPP government will together with the Electoral Commission of Ghana, will rig the 2020 general elections in their favor. However, he stated that the situation a clear indication that the New Patriotic Party wants to rig the 2020 elections.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has mounted yet another defense for the compilation of a new voters’ register ahead of the 2020 general elections.

This justification is coming in despite the concerns raised by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that there is no real need for a new register for the upcoming polls.
