Few days after the Anas Coalition released artistic impression of alleged assailants of Ahmed Hussein-Suale, controversial journalist, Kevin Taylor, has published a photograph of a man some claim is the bodyguard of legislator Kennedy Agyapong, which appears to have a resemblance to the art piece.

In commemoration of the 1st anniversary of the demise of the investigative journalist who worked with Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Tiger Eye PI, the Anas Coalition shared artistic impression of two persons believed to have pulled the trigger on Suale and urged the public to assist the police in the midst of suggestions that the service had done little to bring perpetrators to book.

“Artist impression of the two men who allegedly murdered Ahmed Suale. Anyone with knowledge of their whereabouts could kindly volunteer such information to the security services,” parts of the caption read.

Juxtaposing a picture with one of the artworks, Mr. Taylor on his Facebook page asked ‘Who killed Ahmed Suale?”

His decision has however received condemnation from some commenters who have argued that he could be making a similar mistake Mr. Agyapong made when he publicized Ahmed Suale’s picture at the time several persons were eager to unveil the mask of Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his team – especially when the said artistic impression did not come from the police.

When Tiger Eye aired its investigative piece titled ‘Number 12’ which exposed widespread corruption in African football, Mr Agyapong flared up and called for retribution against him and the team.

According to him, he was offended, to say the least, by the undercover methods employed by the team. Weeks after the documentary was screened, in June 2018, he used his own TV station to attack Suale, announced where he stayed and published pictures of him on the channel.

“That’s him. His other picture is there as well, make it big. If you meet him somewhere, slap him… beat him. Whatever happens, I’ll pay,” said the lawmaker.

Months after the unmasking, unidentified men on motorbikes reportedly shot Ahmed Suale in his neighbourhood while driving.

The Assin Central Member of Parliament rejected claims of masterminding the attack and called for the arrest of Anas as he alleged that the journalist had a hand in the death of the colleague.

“They want to distract the police so that they will focus on me so the very people who committed the murder will run away. He [Anas] knows something about the death,” he said on Asempa FM.

He claimed Ahmed, before his killing, had fallen out with his boss, Anas. He further claimed he had text messages pointing to the fall-out and threats on the deceased’s life.

On January 28, 2019, the politician offered a GHc 100,000 reward to anyone who will volunteer information that would lead to the arrest of the killers of Ahmed Hussein-Suale, stressing that he was making the offer because his reputation was at stake.

“It’s a human being that has died, no matter the mistake he has made, he has the right to live,” he said on Net2 TV.

“What I want to do is, anyone who can give information to assist in the arrest of the suspects will receive ¢100,000 from me because it’s my reputation on the line,” he added.
