The Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly has donated GH¢45,000 to 26 persons living with disabilities (PWDs).
Presenting the PWDs with the sum, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly, Madam Sandra Owusu-Ahinkorah said the donations were part of the assemblies fund for PWDs.

Some beneficiaries were also presented with sewing machines, drilling and plumbing tools while others received refrigerators to start businesses.
Two other beneficiaries received wheelchairs donated to them courtesy the Akwaaba Nippon Foundation.
The MCE advised the beneficiaries to put the donations to good use and ensure that it benefits their families.
Madam Owusu-Ahinkorah charged them to encourage other PWDs to get into businesses which will be more profitable than begging on the streets.

She also called on corporate and civil society groups to provide opportunities to PWDs when there were vacancies in their organizations.
